What is a PBC Certified Organization?
The PBC Certified Organization (PBC‑CO) badge is designed for banks and credit unions, as a way to stand out from the competition and demonstrate to clients that their staff is trained on an industry wide standard and provide thought leadership across the community, staying on the leading edge of trends and best practices.
The PBC Certified Organization will require a certain number of staff to be trained on the PBC Courses, from Level I, to Level II, and one PBC Certified Professional.
It’s the natural evolution of what PBC started with individuals, because building a safe, sustainable financial ecosystem doesn’t stop at training people; it means equipping entire organizations.

1x PBC-CP
5x PBC-II
10x PBC-I
3x Board Members / Executives
Annual PBC Conference participation
PBC Hosted Webinar participation
Annual audit to ensure PBC trained staff levels are met
Upon successfully completing all requirements, the fee is $15,000. The PBC Certified Organization badge must be renewed every 3 years.
The PBC Certification Program will help:
Expand the cannabis banking workforce
Expand existing cannabis banking programs
Encourage more banks and credit unions to support the cannabis industry
The PBC Certification Program consists of three levels:
PBC Level I Cannabis Banking Certificate (PBC-I)
PBC Level II Cannabis Banking Certificate (PBC-II)
PBC Certified Professional (PBC-CP)
The Level I and II Certificates are online, self-paced training. The advanced PBC Certified Professional designation requires an in-person component that can be met by participating in the annual PBC Conference.
There is also an opportunity for banks and credit unions to achieve a PBC Certified Organization badge when certain criteria are met.
