Michael Beird is Vice President of Treasury Management at Southwest Capital Bank and co-founder of the Association for Cannabis Banking (ACB). With more than 40 years of experience in banking, treasury management, payments, and regulatory compliance, he helps financial institutions and cannabis-related businesses navigate the evolving landscape of commercial banking and payment solutions. Michael just hosted the 2nd Annual Cannabis Banking eXperience last July in New Mexico, and is co-author of the Wiley-published textbook Cannabis Banking: Legal Frameworks and Practical Solutions for Cultivating Compliance. Before joining Southwest Capital Bank, Michael held senior leadership positions with BankersHub, J.D. Power, the Bank Administration Institute (BAI), Cornerstone Advisors, Demos Consulting Solutions, Shawmut Bank, and Bank of America. He is a frequent speaker and contributor on critical issues impacting financial services today.
