Lyla Hunt is a founding member of the New York State Office of Cannabis Management (OCM) and serves as its Director of Public Health and Education. Her work translates data and research into policy, regulation, and evidence-informed programs that support the health and well-being of all New Yorkers.

Lyla has worked at the intersection of drug policy, public health, and harm reduction for more than a decade. Before joining OCM, she held several roles at the New York State Department of Health, where she worked to strengthen services for people who use drugs, advance the state’s response to opioid overdose, and shape the development of New York’s cannabis policy framework.
