Daniel Vallejo is the BSA/AML Officer at Alerus Financial, where he oversees the bank’s compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and other anti-financial crimes laws and regulations. Prior to his current role, he was BSA Officer at a community bank where he established and oversaw the cannabis banking risk program, including program development, the development of risk management policy, and strategic planning and advisory. He is a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) and a Certified Commercial Cannabis Expert (CCCE).

In addition to his role at Alerus, he coaches the Jessup International Law Moot Court team at the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Daniel is a member of ACAMS, the membership chair of the ACAMS Upper Midwest Chapter board, and serves on the Minnesota Bankers Association’s BSA/AML Committee. He lives in Minneapolis.
